5 fun poses to create engaging branding imagery

When you hire me to create your branding imagery, I won’t tell you how to stand, or twist you into weird positions. I will, however, work with your natural movements to keep you comfortable, and so that you look like, well, YOU!

Having said that, it is always fun to give some direction and create engagement in the images by really interacting with the camera.

One of my favourites is “now - FAKE LAUGH!”. I get beautiful, unguarded expressions every time ;)

Here are 5 ideas to incorporate into your shot list for some movement and engagement.

1. Twist and Shout

Stand at a slight angle to the camera, and place your weight on your back foot. A hand on the hip works beautifully here, too.

2. Hands on Hips

Facing the camera, with hands on hips, creates a powerful and confident pose.

3. Lean Forward

Leaning forward slightly (or a lot) creates a connection with the viewer. This can be a standing or seated image.

4. Play with Props

This is a favourite! There are so many props that can be used to create and enhance your brand story. Think colour, functionality, and relevance.

5. Have Fun with Movement

Twirl, throw confetti, walk, jump, blow out a candle. The ideas are endless.

All of these ideas will be customised to your personality, and your business. We will plan outfits, prop ideas, scenarios, locations and more when we plan your branding session.

Let me know what amazing ideas you can think of!
