Personal branding imagery? What is that?

Let me tell you all about it!

Personal branding photography is a relatively new niche in the photography industry in Australia. I’d been seeing and hearing about it on the American photographer accounts I follow for about 2 years before it started emerging here. I was one of the first photographers in Canberra to offer branding imagery - and I just love it!!

Personal Branding Photography is all about creating imagery for entrepreneurs - YOU - to get out from behind your computer, and connect with your audience. This imagery will elevate your brand from a stock image-based online presence, to one that showcases you, your products and/or services, and what it looks like to work with you either in person or online. The images will create a more personal feeling to your brand, and will help you to create the ‘like, know, and trust’ factor with your dream clients.

This is why personal branding imagery could benefit you:

1. Storytelling

Telling your story through beautiful, professional imagery will catch the eye of your future (and existing) clients and customers. A beautiful image will stop the scroll. Once you’ve caught their attention (remember: a picture says 1000 words), they will read your caption. And then engage.

A personal branding photo session is all about you and your work in the world. You are unique. You are not a big box store that has branches all over the country. Take advantage of that and connect on a personal level with your audience.

No-one else does what you do in the way that you do it. Put yourself out there in front of your audience. As my business coach, Bec McFarland from POP Your Business says: don’t be a jerk! There are people out there looking for you! Make it easy for them to find you. Showing who you are and what you do through a customised and tailored branding imagery, will attract clients who are ready to work with you.

3. Up level your brand

Clients will take you and your business seriously if you use beautiful, consistent imagery on your website, social media platforms, printed collateral, guest podcast covers, and blogs, etc. Staying top of mind for when clients need your service can easily be achieved due to brand recognition. By using quality imagery, you build trust, recognition, and customer confidence in your brand.
