The 5 types of branding imagery you need for your business
New year, new you? I don’t like that saying much, but as it is the start of 2023, let me help you to make some new choices to refresh your business.
Getting you in front of your audience and putting yourself out there as the expert in your field, is a wonderful way of connecting with your clients and future clients. Buyers are looking for more personal connections with sellers. The “buy local” movement is growing.
Use the tips below to think of ideas on how to connect more with your audience. I can assure you that getting out from behind the computer is an excellent way to achieve this!
1. Fantastic headshots
Having in-focus, close up images of your gorgeous face are *must have* images in your personal photo library. As seen above, you don’t have to have a plain background to have a stunning headshot. Janie is a stylist and we used a rack of clothing behind her to create interest.
Use images on your about page, social media profile pics, guest blog or podcast tiles, within your social media accounts, and on your website. The options are endless!
2. Behind the scenes
Show your audience where you work from. This could be your office, your home, a co-working space, or the couch! Incorporating your laptop/phone/giant wall calendar are great props to have in the images.
Believe me, your audience is “stalking” your account before they make contact for the first time. Give them something to oooh and aaah about!
3. Products or services
If you make something, or sell something, show these items in your imagery. Show what you want to sell. And if you provide a service, show your clients what that looks like - have a client work with you during your photo session so that future clients can get a glimpse of what working with you would look like.
My client, Collector Cottage (image above) has told me that guests have booked her AirBnb because of the images on her site. How great is that for RoI?!
4. Hobbies and interests
Building the like, know and trust factor with your clients does not only pertain to your work. They want to see who you are, so show them! Do you ride horses, read books, bake, belly dance? These kinds of images are pure gold!
5. YOU!
What inspires you? Why do you do what you do? These questions can be answered with an image! Show your audience your favourite thing, write a caption to go along with the image, and you’ve just created an engaging post.
Jen, above, is a music historian. How fun is this image we got of her playing her “guitar”?
So, are you ready to elevate your brand and attract your dream client? I hope this inspires you to start planning for your own personal branding session.
