Spring has sprung!

Hello, and happy spring!

Aren’t all the blossoms and flowering bulbs absolutely spectacular at the moment? I wish they lasted longer…

As you have probably gathered by now, I have an intense love of dahlias, and I am so incredibly fortunate to have a dear friend, Rachel, who owns and operates her very own flower farm called Collector Cottage, which is in Collector, New South Wales.

Rachel hosts beautiful flower workshops and high teas in The Flower Shed on her farm, sells her cut flowers to local Canberra florists, creates beautiful arrangements, and supplies small weddings with her beautiful blooms.

Rachel and her two lovely local assistants have been digging, dividing, and storing all the dahlia tubers in preparation for sale. I think Rachel said at last count they had divided 900 tubers! This is an incredible feat for a micro farm owner. I can’t wait to see the dahlias flowering in the field in a few months!

As mentioned above, Rachel’s dahlia tubers are now available for sale. If you’d like to grow your own, I highly recommend that you buy them from Collector Cottage - no pesticides have been used, they are hand-reared and lovingly cared for, and they are locally grown. Find them here.

I absolutely love it when Rachel asks me to come and photograph something on the farm - whether the beautiful flowers and field, or her stunning AirBnb’s, it is always a joy to spend time at Collector Cottage.

Thank you for all the joy you bring to the world, Rachel x
